Promoting and evangelizing your open-source project is equally important as engineering of the project. Half of this talk will be focused on action i.e. possibilities and execution the developer evangelism ideas, the other half will aim to bring the mindset change needed in order to multiply the outcomes of your efforts. Instead of talking generically, I will add examples from my experiences which led to growing an open-source project community by 3x(from 2k to 7k) within just 3 months and then doing it again; building a community of 15000 under-represented developers from scratch; turning a PR disaster to an opportunity; etc. Some of the key ideas I will discuss will be around simplifying the communication, engaging external developer communities, scaling developer evangelism/education, asking for help when needed, prioritizing the right content/channels depending upon the project stage, etc.
